About Newsfeeds

The News Feeds portlet uses a syndication technology known as RSS to display headlines, along with their corresponding summaries, from a variety of publicly-available newsfeeds.

Many websites now support RSS syndication of their content. OfficeClip's RSS feed implementation allows you toview a selected news feed's current"headlines,". When clicked, a new window takes you to the story from the main site on which the feed is based.


OfficeClip provides a few feeds to get you started, but you can add more. Directories of RSS feeds can be found at http://www.newsisfree.com/ and http://www.syndic8.comRSS feeds are also found on sites that contain the button. To get the URL of the feed behind an orange XML button, right click on the button and select Copy Target.
