Setup LDAP Authentication

OfficeClip can be setup to authenticate against an LDAP Server (e.g. Active directory). In this mode the login id and the password is passed on to the LDAP Server and allows the server to authenticate. Following are the steps to setup the LDAP Authentication:

  1. Add the login id for each user.
  2. Change the web.config file to point to the LDAP Server.
  3. Use the LDAP login and password to login to OfficeClip.

1. Add the login id for each user

The login id of each user need to be added from Setup -> Manage Site Information -> Update Site Ids screen. To reach this screen you must login as site administrator.

This should be the same as the LDAP login id (or Active Directory login id).

2. Change the web.config file to point to the LDAP Server

To make changes to the web.config file, go to c:\program file\officeclip\7 folder and run the program OcTools.exe. Next Select the option to Set LDAP authentication:

Finally put the url of the LDAP server and click on Apply.

3. Use the LDAP login and password to login to OfficeClip

Next try to login to OfficeClip using your LDAP id and password. Note that login with email address will not work any more.

Note: To change back from the LDAP authentication to OfficeClip authentication, go to step 2 above, click Clear and then click Apply.
