Installation and Configuration


  1. Visit the OfficeClip download page and click on the download link. This will show a dialog box as shown below:


  2. Click on the Run button. This will show you a dialog box as shown below:


  3. Note the Publisher field should say OfficeClip LLC (the certificate could be verified by clicking on the OfficeClip LLC link). Click on the Run button. After the setup.exe loads and runs, it will check for all the dependencies and download all the components required for your machine. Depending on your machine processor speed and the speed of internet access, this process may take a long time to complete. When all the prerequisities are downloaded and installed, the execution of the OfficeClip setup program will start. A dialog similar to this will be shown:


  4. Verify that you are installing the correct release of OfficeClip and then click on the Next button



  5. Read the license agreement carefully. If required, you can click on the Print button to print the license agreement. Finally click on the option I Agree and then click on the Next button.


  6. By default OfficeClip will be loaded to the folder shown in the figure, this screen will allow you to change the installation folder. Please note that you should not select the same folder you have used to install a previous version of OfficeClip (version 6.9.9 or below). Click on the Next button.


  7. Make sure that the confirmation screen shows the correct value of the OfficeClip version and the installation folder. Yo can modify these by clicking on the Back button. Press Next to proceed further.


  8. Wait till all the files are copied to the installation folder, the installation program will now allow configuration of the products.


  9. At this point various OfficeClip products can be selected for installation. Note that once selected, the products can be controlled later using OfficeClip site administration and licensing. Also, add the ogranization name and the site administrator email address and click on Next. This will start creating the OfficeClip database and virtual directories in the IIS.


  10. Click on Finish to Configure OfficeClip. The configuration wizard pops up.


  11. Click on the Next button


  12. Set up the SMTP prameters. The SMTP parameter is used to send important emails (like password, meeting invitations etc.) out of OfficeClip. More details of setting up SMTP is explained elsewhere in the Help file. If you do not know what to set, select Disable SMTP option. This will allow OfficeClip to work without being able to send emails out. At amy point the configuration program can be accessed via the start menu and the SMTP parameters can be adjusted again. Click Next when done.


  13. The configuration parameters screen allows configuration of various OfficeClip parameters. The details of the configuration screen is explained elsewhere in this document. For the time being keep the settings as is and click on Save.


  14. Note the url shown on the finished screen. OfficeClip can be launched by typing this url on the address bar of the browser. Click on the Finish button. Start OfficeClip by selecting Start Menu -> Program Files -> OfficeClip -> Launch OfficeClip.


  15. This will bring up the Site Creation Wizard to create your OfficeClip Site. After filling in all the information click Next.


  16. Next, set the date and time format for your installation and click Next

  18. Select the application that you want to use for OfficeClip (Note: that you can change this later from the site administration screen) and click Next



  19. Finally add additional users to your OfficeClip organization and click Next



  20. On the status screen click Next




  21. 16. The login screen comes up, enter the email address and the password (entered in the wizard above) and press the Enter key.
