OfficeClip Migration

The following steps outline the process of migrating OfficeClip to a different server:

  1. Migrate the OfficeClip Server

Migrating the OfficeClip server includes installing OfficeClip to a different server and then changing the settings so that it picks up the virtual document directory and other utilities.
  2. Migrate the OfficeClip database

Migration of the OfficeClip database involves detaching the database from the existing SQL server and then attaching it to a different server. Please see below for exact instructions on how to accomplish this. Note: Migrating the OfficeClip database is a separate process and it can be done independent of migrating the OfficeClip server.
  3. Migrate the OfficeClip document directory

The OfficeClip document directory is accessed using a virtual directory called upload as explained in this section. By default all documents are stored in the upload To change this directory follow instructions given below.
  4. Request a new OfficeClip license

The OfficeClip license is tied to the server it runs on. If the server is changed, the license will need to be renewed.
