Specific Installation Errors
Q1: How can I install the Internet Information Services
(IIS)?
A: OfficeClip needs Internet Information Services (IIS).
IIS is automatically installated with Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
servers. For Windows XP professional or Windows 2000 workstation,
please follow the instructions given below:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and click Add or
Remove Programs.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components. The Windows
Components Wizard appears.
- Check mark on Internet Information Services (IIS),
Select it and Click on the Next button.
- Note that if you are installing OfficeClip on Windows Server
2003, you also need to check mark the ASP.NET for
installation.
Q2: On the reports the title icons (next page,
previous page etc.) are not visible?
A: This might have happened because the crystal reports
components are not installed properly. Download the file http://www.officeclipbeta.com/oc/crystalimages.zip
on your computer, expand it and follow instructions given in the
readme.txt file.
Q3: Upon installation OfficeClip is not
starting. it always gives a 404 error (page not found)?
A: There may be a number of reasons for this,
please do the following in order:
- Try to run http://server-name/officeclip/systemtest.aspx (where
server name is the name of the officeclip server (or its ip
address)).
- If Step 1 gives the same error, try to run
http://server-name/officeclip/enterbugs.html.
- If Step 2 fails, switch off all the virus protection on your
system and try Step 2 again.
- If Step 3 fails, go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools
-> Internet Information Services and then expand the left menu
to go
to the "Default Web Site". Find OfficeClip virtual directory below
it. Click on the right mouse button on OfficeClip and click on
properties.
- Click on the Directory Security Tab and then click on the Edit
button in Anonymous Authentication section
- Make sure that the Anonymous Access and Integrated Windows
Authentication is checked.
- Close this window and then click on the ASP.Net tab and make
sure thhat the asp.net version is set to 2.0
- Try running Step 1 again.
