18.5.4. Fixed Fields

Some of the fields in Issue Tracker are fixed, meaning the type of these fields cannot be changed and the fields cannot be removed. You can, however, modify the names of the fixed fields. Some fields can also be further configured under the functions column by clicking the Icon in the Functions column.

  1. From the Issue Tracker, click one of the binders then, click Admin on the button bar. Click Edit Fixed Fields on the button bar of the Admin menu.

  2. Certain elements of the fixed field can be edited, including: Display Name, Administrator Edit, Mandatory, Color-Coded, Style-Coded, and Functions, which will be addressed in the following steps.

  3. To alter the Display Name, simply type the field names in the Display Name column of the grid.

  4. You may wish to make certain fields editable by only certain roles in your group. By checking the Administrator Edit box, only administrators will be granted edit privileges.

  5. If you wish to make certain fields mandatory when information is entered either for a new issue or an existing issue, check the field in the Mandatory column corresponding to the field you wish to require. The fields will appear with an asterisk * next to them in the issue list screen.
