28.4.3. Accruals

This feature allows calculation of Time Off accruals over a period of time. Each organization has different accrual rules for various time offs like vacations, family leave etc. In addition, accrual rules may change based on other factors like seniority.

The following fields are captured for accruals:

Policy Name: The name of the Accrual Policy (required)

Units: The Unit of measurement of accrual. Accrual can be measured either in Hour or Day. If measured in Days, the number of hour per day also needs to be specified. Internally all accruals are measured in hours.

Description: The description of the Accrual Policy

Prorate: If true, Time Offs will be prorated. For example, if an employee joined after a few months later than the accrual start date, he/she will accrue the time off only for the portion of the time worked.

Accrual Amount: Determines how much is accrued and when the accrual starts. Accruals can be set to fixed number of units weekly, monthly and yearly.

Accrual Day: Accruals can start on employee's anniversary date or at the beginning of the year.

Reset Amount: This amount determines when the accruals are reset if not used for a period of time. For example, an employee who earns 1 day every month of personal time can have his/her personal time reset to 5 in the beginning of the next year (7 days lost if the employee did not use any of the personal time)
