New OfficeClip Release and Enhancements
We have been working hard on various improvements and we are excited to introduce some great new features!
Various Authentication Modes
OfficeClip installable edition now supports Forms, Windows and LDAP authentication. This allows companies to configure OfficeClip authentication based on the way they already authenticate other services in their organization.
The following are the details on these authentication types. Click on the link below to see more information on how to set it up:
- Forms Authentication - This is the default mode of authentication. In this mode, users are authenticated via their login and password. The authentication values are stored in the database.
- Windows Authentication - This mode allows users to login using Microsoft Windows login and password authentication. This allows users to automatically login using their windows credential.
- LDAP Authentication - In this method users login using their login id and password. This is different from the Forms Authentication in that the password is stored in the LDAP server. OfficeClip delegates the login to the LDAP server and allows access upon confirmation from the LDAP sever.
Contact Roles for Opportunities
Opportunities can now be associated with Contacts and their Roles. To enable this feature, go to Opportunity > Admin > Children .
Expanded Email Feature
We have incorporated more security features in the OfficeClip Email. It now works with SSL and StartTLS. This will allow Gmail to be used for SMTP and POP
What is coming?
We soon plan to add the following features:
- Completely new, redesigned and easy-to-use user interface
- More useful reports
- Addition of Relationship Manager, Contract Manager and Products
- Full fleged Project Management
These will be released with the 8.* version of OfficeClip
