Are the listed Binder Template Types the only ones available?

Is there any way I can create my own template without having to use an existing one whose name doesn't describe what the Binder is going to track?

I note the Upload Binder specification from XML file option but how do you go about doing this, especially if you don't know how to create an XML file?

The reason I ask is that we require OfficeClip Issue Tracker for a specific Quality Management purpose, but none of the supplied binders types represent what we need, and there are binder types we will never use so I would like to remove them from the list.

In OfficeClip Issue Tracker, I know of a simple way to do this. Although I am not sure if it is widely used and all the features are activated :-)

  1. Choose the General Tracking Template and create a new project.

  2. Now change the fixed fields, user-defined fields etc. to what you need for your future template.

  3. Create another project and now select the option Copy specification from existing Binder.

  4. Select the previously created binder.

Note: You may also change the permission of the first binder so that only administrators can see it. That way nobody else can change it.

OK a little lenience for a newby to this. Where do I change the permission for the binder?

As much as I am impressed by the product so far it seems the binder template system is a little inflexible and awkward to the way template systems normally work.

For instance there is no way for me to get rid of or rename the supplied templates so I'm stuck with Patient, Workman's Comp etc., which along with most of the others are templates I will never use.

I found a problem with the above method for creating your own templates and hiding the master template by changing the permission so only the administrator can see it. When I change the permissions on any binder copied from a master, the permissions change for every binder created using the master. This means I cannot hide the original by using permissions as all binders based on it will be hidden.

OK I solved it by going to the Master and then removing the permissions from each individual member. I was using the Group function before and it appears that applies to the whole project.

As I stated this is a fairly awkward and inflexible way of handling templates, but it's working now and at this early stage overall I am more than happy with the Issue Tracker.

I am happy it worked for you. I have added an enhancement request for this and will let you know when we have come up with a better way to handle this.
