- If you want to completely separate contacts, you can create a new organization and add the contacts there. Contacts in different organizations are completely hidden and they are not seen by anybody who is not a member of the organization.
- To create a new Organization go to Setup > Manage Organization Information > Create New Organization
- Another way to separate contacts is to tag them separately. You can then create filters on the tag and access them.
- To create a Tag, go to the Contact Detail Screen and then Click on New Tag (on the Summary Screen to your right). You can then add new tags and link them with the contact. These tags can be searched from the main list screen of the Contact Manager (search box)
- Yet another way to do it by creating a user defined field, say Group, and then set the values differently for these contacts.
- To create a new user defined field, login as an Administrator and then click on the Admin button under Contact.
- Click on the UDFs and create a new user defined field of List Type, then add some list values.
- Now go to Contact Modify screen and select a value for the contact
- You will be able to search for a particular value for this field from the list screen search box
